Ingredients
- 4 thick slices of bread (sourdough or brioche)
- 4 tablespoons soft cream cheese or labneh
- 1/2 cup of your favorite jam (strawberry, raspberry, or spiced apple)
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, for drizzling)
- 1 tablespoon softened butter or olive oil for frying
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- Fresh berries or mint for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your toast by cutting a heart-shaped center from each bread slice, keeping the heart cutouts for snacking.
- Spread about 1 tablespoon of cream cheese inside each bread border.
- Spoon 1 to 2 teaspoons of jam into each heart center.
- Heat butter or oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.
- Place the toasts in the skillet, jam side up, and cover loosely for about 2–3 minutes.
- Remove the lid and cook until the bottom is golden, about 2 more minutes.
- Finish by dusting with cinnamon, drizzling with honey, and topping with berries or mint.
Notes
