Description

A cozy fall treat that’s nourishing and easy to make.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup sunflower oil or olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or seeds (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Add wet ingredients to a separate bowl and mix.
  4. Combine the mixtures until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour.
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Cover the loaf and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until it sounds hollow.
  10. Cool the bread for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best results. Allow adequate rising time for a light and fluffy loaf.
