Description

These Ham and Havarti Cheese Sliders are the ultimate comfort food—gooey, buttery, and baked to golden perfection. Ideal for game day, cozy fall dinners, or quick lunches that bring people together.


Ingredients

  • 12 slider buns or soft dinner rolls
  • 300g sliced Havarti cheese
  • 250g sliced ham (deli or home-cooked)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon onion flakes
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley


Instructions

  1. Slice the rolls in half lengthwise without separating them. Place the bottom halves in a greased 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Spread mayonnaise and mustard on the cut side of each half. Layer ham slices evenly over the bottoms, then add Havarti cheese. Place the top halves back on.
  3. In a bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder, onion flakes, and poppy seeds. Brush generously over the tops of the sliders.
  4. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 5–7 minutes, until the tops are golden and crisp.
  5. Use a serrated knife to cut between sliders and serve immediately while gooey and warm.

Notes

You can substitute the ham with turkey or roast chicken. Havarti’s creamy melt pairs well with many proteins. These sliders can be made ahead and stored in the fridge overnight before baking. Avoid microwaving leftovers to keep the buttery crust crisp.
