Description

A cozy, sweet, and savory garlic chicken dish that caramelizes into a glossy glaze, perfect for weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 1.5–2 lbs)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels so the glaze sticks well.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, minced garlic, olive oil, soy sauce, Dijon, smoked paprika, pepper, salt, and apple cider vinegar until smooth.
  4. Place chicken thighs in a single layer in a baking dish or sheet pan.
  5. Pour the glaze over the chicken, turning each piece to coat evenly. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes if you have time to let flavors mingle.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, basting once halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the glaze is caramelized.
  7. For a deeply caramelized top, broil on high for 2–3 minutes—watch closely so the sugar doesn’t burn.
  8. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving so juices redistribute. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

Patting the chicken dry ensures the glaze adheres and caramelizes properly. Be cautious with the broiler, as brown sugar can burn quickly.
