Description
These Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats are spooky, sweet, and perfect for Halloween. With their gooey green marshmallow base, chocolate hair, and candy eyes, they’re a fun and festive treat that comes together fast!
Ingredients
- 6 cups puffed rice cereal
- 1 bag (10 oz) marshmallows (mini or regular)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- Green gel food coloring
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips or melting wafers (for hair)
- Candy eyeballs
- Black decorating gel or melted chocolate (for mouths/scars)
- Optional: mini pretzel sticks (for “bolts”)
Instructions
- Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add marshmallows and stir until fully melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in green gel food coloring until desired shade is reached.
- Add puffed rice cereal and stir until evenly coated.
- Press the mixture into the prepared pan and let it cool for about 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Cut into rectangles. Dip tops into melted chocolate for hair.
- Add candy eyeballs and draw mouths or scars using black decorating gel or melted chocolate.
- Optional: insert mini pretzel sticks on the sides as Frankenstein’s bolts.
Notes
Use gel food coloring for vibrant green. Grease your hands or spatula before pressing. Add popsicle sticks to turn them into Halloween treats-on-a-stick!
