Description

These Frankenstein Cookie Pops are spooky, sweet, and seriously fun to make. Perfect for Halloween parties or festive baking days with kids, these playful cookie pops are dipped in green candy coating and decorated with candy eyes, stitches, and pretzel bolts.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups green candy melts (or white with green coloring)
  • Black decorating gel or edible marker
  • Candy eyes
  • Mini pretzel sticks or black licorice pieces (for neck bolts)
  • Lollipop sticks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat until combined.
  3. Gradually mix in dry ingredients to form a smooth dough.
  4. Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness. Cut rectangles or rounds for Frankenstein heads. Gently insert lollipop sticks into base of each cookie.
  5. Place cookies on parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake 8–10 minutes or until edges are golden. Let cool completely.
  6. Melt green candy melts in microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Dip each cookie to coat the face and let excess drip off. Place on wax paper.
  7. While coating is soft, add candy eyes. Use black gel or edible marker to draw stitches, brows, and hair. Press broken pretzel sticks into sides as bolts before coating sets.
  8. Let cookies fully set before serving or storing.

Notes

Chill dough before cutting for cleaner shapes. Undecorated cookies freeze well for up to 2 months. Kids love decorating these turn it into a fun Halloween activity!
