Description
A light and fluffy vanilla cake ideal for fall gatherings, easily made in an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cream the softened butter until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the buttermilk, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Grease an 8-inch round cake pan that fits into your air fryer.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Place the pan into the preheated air fryer and cook for 25-30 minutes.
- Remove the cake from the air fryer and cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for best results. Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the cake light and fluffy.
