Description

A quick and comforting one-pan dinner made with savory ground beef, crisp vegetables, and fluffy rice tossed in a rich, umami-packed stir-fry sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 cups cooked jasmine or basmati rice (day-old preferred)
  • 1 cup mixed bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden.
  3. Add ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Season with black pepper and chili flakes and cook until browned and caramelized.
  5. Add bell peppers, broccoli, and grated ginger.
  6. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  7. Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil.
  8. Stir well until everything is evenly coated.
  9. Add cooked rice and break up any clumps.
  10. Stir-fry for 3–5 minutes until rice absorbs the sauce.
  11. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  12. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Use cold, day-old rice for best texture. Cook in a wide pan to avoid steaming and keep ingredients moving for perfect stir-fry results.
