Description

Soft, sweet, and safe-to-eat, this Edible Cookie Dough is the ultimate cozy treat—perfect for fall movie nights, after-school snacks, or a late-night craving fix. Made with heat-treated flour and no eggs, it’s ready in minutes and endlessly customizable.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, heat-treated*
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • *To heat-treat flour: Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 5–7 minutes or microwave in 30-second bursts until it reaches 165°F (74°C). Let cool before using.

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  2. Mix in the milk and vanilla extract until fully combined and smooth.
  3. Slowly mix in the heat-treated flour and salt until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly using a spatula or spoon.
  5. Scoop into bowls, roll into bites, or enjoy straight from the bowl.

Notes

Soften butter at room temp for best results. Always heat-treat your flour before use to make the dough safe to eat. For a firmer texture, chill in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving. Stores beautifully for make-ahead treats or gifting.
