Description

This slow cooker BBQ chicken is easy to prepare, tender, and simmered to perfection with bold BBQ flavors.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Buns for serving


Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  2. Add the diced onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the BBQ sauce over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is cooked through.
  5. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and mix it with the sauce.
  6. Serve on buns with pickles, slaw, or extra sauce as desired.

Notes

Trim extra fat from the chicken for a cleaner sauce. Use low sodium BBQ sauce if desired. For rich butter flavor, add a bit of butter at the end.
