Description

This Creamy Baked Custard is the perfect cozy dessert to enjoy during the autumn season, infused with warm flavors and simple to make in an air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk (full-fat for creaminess)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or your preferred sweetener)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • A pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the custard mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until well combined and slightly frothy. Gradually add in the milk, continuing to whisk until the mixture is smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract, salt, and if desired, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  2. Pour the custard mixture evenly into ramekins or small oven-safe dishes, aiming for about 3/4 full.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
  4. Cook the custard in the air fryer for about 20-25 minutes. Check for doneness by gently shaking the ramekins; the custard should be set but still slightly jiggly in the center.

Notes

Choose ceramic or glass ramekins for best results. Don’t overmix to maintain creaminess. Consider flavor variations like chocolate or vanilla bean.
