Description

This cookies recipe low sugar is soft, satisfying, and naturally sweetened with banana and applesauce. Perfect for guilt-free snacking, it’s made with wholesome ingredients and no refined sugar. A family-friendly, beginner-proof treat that still tastes like a classic cookie.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana (mashed)

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

  • 1/4 cup almond butter or peanut butter

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1/3 cup almond flour

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • Optional: 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped walnuts

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, mash the banana, then mix in applesauce, nut butter, and vanilla.

  • Stir in oats, almond flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt until fully combined.

  • Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.

  • Scoop dough onto prepared sheet using a spoon or cookie scoop. Flatten slightly.

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.

  • Let cool on pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Cookies will be soft; for a crispier version, bake 2–3 minutes longer.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 days or refrigerate for 1 week.

  • Freeze for up to 3 months.

  • To make vegan: ensure chocolate chips are dairy-free.

  • To make nut-free: use sunflower seed butter instead of almond or peanut.
