Description

Deliciously chewy and warm Chocolate Chip Cookies that evoke cozy memories of baking.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (or halved with a halal substitute)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl, then set aside.
  3. Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then blend in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft.
  9. Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
