Description

A comforting and delicious banana bread studded with chocolate chips, perfect for cozy gatherings or quiet mornings.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups (220 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1/2 cup (90 g) chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and slightly fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, then stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture just until combined.
  6. Fold in most of the chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on top.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a tester comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  8. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then lift it out and cool completely on a rack before slicing.

Notes

For gluten-free, replace flour with a gluten-free blend and add xanthan gum if necessary.
