A perfect cheesy toast recipe made in an air fryer, ideal for snacks or breakfast during the cozy fall season.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough or whole grain)
- 1 cup of shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a blend)
- 2 tablespoons of butter (or olive oil spread)
- 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: fresh chopped herbs, red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Bread: Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice.
- Season the Butter: Mix minced garlic into the butter before spreading. Sprinkle oregano, salt, and pepper on the buttered side.
- Add the Cheese: Generously sprinkle shredded cheese on the unbuttered side of each slice.
- Air Fry the Toast: Place the slices in the air fryer basket, cheese side up, and air fry for about 5-7 minutes.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the air fryer and sprinkle with fresh herbs or red pepper flakes before serving.
Notes
For thicker bread, it holds up better and provides a crunchier texture. Experiment with different types of cheese for variety.
