Description
This caramelized bananas air fryer recipe is fast, simple, and bursting with flavor. With just bananas, brown sugar, and a few pantry staples, you can create a golden, sticky-sweet topping perfect for pancakes, yogurt, oatmeal, or dessert. Ready in under 10 minutes—no skillet, no mess.
Ingredients
2–3 ripe bananas (firm-ripe preferred)
2 tablespoons brown sugar (light or dark)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Coconut oil spray (light mist, optional)
Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Peel and slice bananas into ½-inch rounds or lengthwise halves.
In a bowl, toss banana slices with brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract if using.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with coconut oil or line it with parchment paper.
Arrange banana slices in a single layer, leaving space between each piece.
Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until edges are golden and sugar is bubbling.
Let rest 1 minute to allow caramel to set before serving.
Enjoy warm as-is or over yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes, or ice cream.
Notes
Use bananas that are ripe but still firm—too soft and they’ll fall apart.
Add chopped nuts, maple syrup, or nutmeg for variation.
To keep it vegan, ensure your sugar is vegan-certified.
For less sugar, try coconut sugar or cut the brown sugar in half.
