Description
This Caramel Apple Puppy Chow Recipe is easy, quick, and ridiculously addictive – a no-bake fall snack full of caramel, white chocolate, and dried apples.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Chex cereal (corn or rice)
- 1 cup caramel chips (or soft caramel candies with a splash of cream)
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- ½ cup dried apple bits or crushed apple chips
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon apple pie spice or cinnamon (optional but flavorful)
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips and caramel chips together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the Chex cereal. Pour the warm caramel mixture over the cereal and gently stir until all pieces are evenly coated.
- Add the dried apple bits and toss gently to combine.
- Transfer the coated cereal into a large resealable bag. Add the powdered sugar and optional apple pie spice.
- Seal the bag tightly and shake until everything is well coated and no sticky pieces remain.
- Let it cool on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 10–15 minutes.
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
Notes
Make sure the cereal is coated but not drenched to avoid sogginess. Cool completely before storing to maintain crispness.
