Description

This Caramel Apple Puppy Chow Recipe is easy, quick, and ridiculously addictive – a no-bake fall snack full of caramel, white chocolate, and dried apples.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Chex cereal (corn or rice)
  • 1 cup caramel chips (or soft caramel candies with a splash of cream)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup dried apple bits or crushed apple chips
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice or cinnamon (optional but flavorful)

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips and caramel chips together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the Chex cereal. Pour the warm caramel mixture over the cereal and gently stir until all pieces are evenly coated.
  3. Add the dried apple bits and toss gently to combine.
  4. Transfer the coated cereal into a large resealable bag. Add the powdered sugar and optional apple pie spice.
  5. Seal the bag tightly and shake until everything is well coated and no sticky pieces remain.
  6. Let it cool on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 10–15 minutes.
  7. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Notes

Make sure the cereal is coated but not drenched to avoid sogginess. Cool completely before storing to maintain crispness.
