Description
Brie & Prosciutto Puff Pastry Twists bring together everything we love about cozy, fall cooking crispy, golden layers of pastry, melty creamy Brie, and the savory richness of prosciutto, all twisted into elegant little bites that vanish the moment they hit the table.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 120g Brie cheese, sliced (rind on or off, your choice)
- 4 thin slices prosciutto
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional for flavor depth)
- 1 tbsp honey (for brushing, optional)
- Fresh thyme leaves (optional garnish)
- Flour for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly dust your work surface with flour.
- Unfold puff pastry and gently roll to smooth creases. Cut into 8 equal strips, about 1 inch wide.
- Slice Brie into thin strips. Lay a slice of prosciutto on each strip, then top with Brie. Optional: Brush pastry with Dijon mustard before layering.
- Hold each end of the pastry strip and twist in opposite directions 3–4 times to create spirals.
- Place twists on baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg. Bake 15–18 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Optional: Drizzle with honey and sprinkle fresh thyme while still warm. Serve immediately or slightly cooled.
Notes
Keep pastry cold for best results. Don’t overfill to avoid tearing. Try fig jam, chili flakes, or sweet & savory variations. Use parchment paper for easy cleanup.
