Description

Brie Crostini with Fig and Prosciutto is a cozy, elegant appetizer that blends creamy Brie, sweet fig jam, and salty prosciutto on perfectly toasted baguette slices. It’s fall in a bite quick to make, beautifully balanced, and always a hit at gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • 200g Brie cheese, sliced
  • 68 slices of prosciutto
  • ½ cup fig jam or fig preserves
  • Olive oil (for brushing)
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional, for garnish)
  • Optional: cracked black pepper
  • Optional: balsamic glaze drizzle
  • Optional: crushed walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange baguette slices in a single layer and brush with olive oil.
  2. Toast in the oven for 5–7 minutes, or until lightly golden and crisp.
  3. Spread about a teaspoon of fig jam on each slice. Top with a thin slice of Brie and a fold of prosciutto.
  4. Return crostini to the oven and bake an additional 4–6 minutes, just until the Brie begins to melt.
  5. Remove from oven and garnish with fresh thyme, a drizzle of balsamic glaze, or crushed nuts if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Let Brie come to room temperature before baking for better melt. Use day-old baguette for the best crunch. For a vegetarian version, skip the prosciutto and add pear slices or toasted nuts.
