Description
A crisp flatbread layered with creamy brie, sweet fig jam, rosemary, and a touch of crunch this Brie and Fig Flatbread Appetizer is the perfect elegant fall starter.
Ingredients
- 1 flatbread or naan (thin, crispy base preferred)
- 100g brie cheese, thinly sliced
- 2–3 tablespoons fig jam or fig preserves
- Fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Sea salt flakes, to taste
- Balsamic glaze, for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place flatbread on the tray and lightly brush with olive oil.
- Spread fig jam evenly over the flatbread using the back of a spoon.
- Layer thin slices of brie evenly over the surface.
- Sprinkle fresh rosemary and optional nuts, pressing gently into the brie.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until brie is melted and edges are crisp.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with sea salt flakes. Drizzle with balsamic glaze if using.
- Cut into wedges or strips and serve warm.
Notes
Use parchment for crisp texture. Avoid overloading with brie or jam to prevent sogginess. Add brie slices post-baking for a soft, elegant finish. Brie melts fast watch carefully!
