Description

A crisp flatbread layered with creamy brie, sweet fig jam, rosemary, and a touch of crunch this Brie and Fig Flatbread Appetizer is the perfect elegant fall starter.

Ingredients

  • 1 flatbread or naan (thin, crispy base preferred)
  • 100g brie cheese, thinly sliced
  • 23 tablespoons fig jam or fig preserves
  • Fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Sea salt flakes, to taste
  • Balsamic glaze, for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place flatbread on the tray and lightly brush with olive oil.
  3. Spread fig jam evenly over the flatbread using the back of a spoon.
  4. Layer thin slices of brie evenly over the surface.
  5. Sprinkle fresh rosemary and optional nuts, pressing gently into the brie.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until brie is melted and edges are crisp.
  7. Remove from oven and sprinkle with sea salt flakes. Drizzle with balsamic glaze if using.
  8. Cut into wedges or strips and serve warm.

Notes

Use parchment for crisp texture. Avoid overloading with brie or jam to prevent sogginess. Add brie slices post-baking for a soft, elegant finish. Brie melts fast watch carefully!
