Description
A cozy dish of flaky salmon baked with a bright lemon garlic butter sauce, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 12 oz salmon fillet, skin on
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon)
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Lemon slices for garnish
- A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- A teaspoon of honey or maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment and place the salmon skin-side down.
- Combine melted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Whisk until combined.
- Brush or spoon most of the butter mixture over the salmon, reserving a little to drizzle after baking. Arrange lemon slices on top if using.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10–14 minutes, depending on thickness. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork, and the internal temperature reaches 125–130°F for medium-rare to medium.
- Remove from oven, drizzle the reserved butter over the fillet, and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Let rest 2 minutes, then serve.
Notes
Use fresh lemon and parsley for the brightest flavor. For a faster finish, broil the salmon for the last 1-2 minutes.
