Description

A cozy dish of flaky salmon baked with a bright lemon garlic butter sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz salmon fillet, skin on
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • A teaspoon of honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment and place the salmon skin-side down.
  2. Combine melted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Whisk until combined.
  3. Brush or spoon most of the butter mixture over the salmon, reserving a little to drizzle after baking. Arrange lemon slices on top if using.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–14 minutes, depending on thickness. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork, and the internal temperature reaches 125–130°F for medium-rare to medium.
  5. Remove from oven, drizzle the reserved butter over the fillet, and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Let rest 2 minutes, then serve.

Notes

Use fresh lemon and parsley for the brightest flavor. For a faster finish, broil the salmon for the last 1-2 minutes.
