Description

A fresh and zesty salmon dish baked to flaky perfection, perfect for seasonal dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ to 2 pounds salmon fillet (skin on)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice and zest of 2 limes
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves, packed and roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (adjust to taste)
  • Optional: thin lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil a baking dish.
  2. Whisk together olive oil, honey, minced garlic, lime juice and zest, chopped cilantro, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  3. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and place it skin-side down on the prepared pan. Spoon the cilantro-lime mixture evenly over the salmon.
  4. Bake in the center rack for 10–14 minutes, depending on thickness, until it flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Let the salmon rest for 3–5 minutes before serving. Garnish with extra cilantro and lime slices.

Notes

Use fresh cilantro and lime for the brightest flavor. Avoid overbaking to prevent dryness. For a crisper top, broil for the last 1–2 minutes.
