Description

A comforting dish featuring tender chicken, melty Swiss cheese, and savory ham—a cozy favorite for fall dinners.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 slices of deli turkey or chicken ham
  • 8 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat or gluten-free)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup of all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour blend)
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil or melted butter for drizzling
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the chicken by pounding it between plastic wrap or parchment to about ½ inch thick.
  3. Layer 2 slices of turkey or chicken ham and 2 slices of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.
  4. Roll up each chicken breast tightly and secure with toothpicks if necessary.
  5. Set up a breading station with three bowls: seasoned flour, whisked eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  6. Dip each roll in the flour, then the egg, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.
  7. Arrange the breaded chicken rolls in a greased baking dish and drizzle with olive oil or melted butter.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
  9. Serve and enjoy with a side salad or seasonal veggies!

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer to check if the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
