Description

These cozy Apple Fritter Bites bring the sweet, spiced magic of fall into bite-sized treats. Perfect for brunch or a warm afternoon snack with a crisp glaze and soft apple-studded centers.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (like sunflower or canola)
  • 1 cup peeled and diced apples (such as Honeycrisp)
  • For the glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, vanilla, and oil.
  3. Add wet ingredients to dry and stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  5. Heat 2 inches of oil in a pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized scoops of batter into hot oil, 4–5 at a time.
  7. Fry for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  8. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  9. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm fritter bites.
  10. Let glaze set 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use firm apples like Honeycrisp for best texture. Don’t overmix batter to keep fritters fluffy. Fry in small batches and serve warm for optimal crispiness.
