Description

A cozy and delicious Air Fryer Whole Chicken that fills your home with comforting aromas, perfect for fall gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (about 3-5 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or halal alternative
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
  • 1 lemon, quartered
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Remove the chicken from its packaging. Pat it dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
  2. Mix the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme in a small bowl. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the chicken, making sure to get under the skin for maximum flavor.
  3. Take the quartered lemon and place it inside the cavity of the chicken to add flavor and moisture.
  4. Preheat your Air Fryer to 360°F (180°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Carefully place the seasoned chicken breast side down in the air fryer basket. Cook for 30 minutes.
  6. After 30 minutes, flip the chicken breast side up and continue cooking for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
  8. Carve the chicken and serve with your favorite sides like roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.

Notes

For extra crispy skin, increase the temperature to 400°F during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
