Description

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized ripe tomatoes, preferably heirloom or vine-ripened
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Prep the tomatoes: Wash thoroughly, pat dry, slice in half lengthwise, and scoop out some seeds.
  2. Season them: In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Toss in halved tomatoes until well-coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer: Set to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Arrange the tomatoes: Place cut side up in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  5. Air Fry: Cook for 10-12 minutes, checking at 8 minutes to avoid overcooking.
  6. Garnish and serve: Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
