A cozy fall favorite featuring sweet potatoes cooked to crispy perfection in an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 2 medium sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (or a halal cooking spray)
- 1 teaspoon salt (more to taste)
- 1 teaspoon paprika (or your favorite seasoning)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prep the sweet potatoes: Wash and peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into evenly sized sticks, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Soak the fries: Soak the sweet potato sticks in cold water for at least 30 minutes.
- Seasoning time: Drain the fries and pat them dry, then toss with olive oil, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
- Air fry the sweet potato fries in a single layer for 15-20 minutes, shaking halfway through.
- Serve and enjoy: Once golden brown, remove from the air fryer and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Make sure your sweet potato sticks are uniform in size for even cooking. Soaking the fries is essential for achieving a crispy texture.
