Description
A cozy fall dish featuring savory roasted sausage and tender baby potatoes, made conveniently in an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 1 pound high-quality sausage
- 1 pound baby potatoes (Yukon Gold or red)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Start by washing the baby potatoes thoroughly. Halve or quarter them depending on their size to ensure even cooking.
- Season the Potatoes: In a large mixing bowl, add the halved potatoes. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle garlic powder, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until the potatoes are evenly coated.
- Prepare the Sausage: While the potatoes soak up the seasoning, slice the sausage into bite-sized pieces. If you prefer, you can also use sausage links, just ensure they are cut into manageable chunks.
- Combine and Mix: Add the sliced sausage to the bowl with the seasoned potatoes. Toss gently to mix everything – the flavors will meld beautifully during cooking.
- Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Once hot, place the potato-sausage mix in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- Check for Doneness: Check that the sausage and potatoes are perfectly cooked – the sausage should be browned with no pink remaining, and the potatoes should be fork-tender.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the basket from the air fryer, let it sit briefly, then sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for optimal crispiness. Adjust seasonings to taste and consider adding vegetables for variation.
