Description
A comforting Air Fryer Salisbury Steak with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, paired with rich gravy.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (halal)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (halal)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth (halal)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (halal)
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil (canola or olive oil)
Instructions
- Prepare the meat mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overwork the meat.
- Shape the patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1 inch thick for even cooking.
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 360°F (182°C) and let it preheat for about 5 minutes.
- Air fry the patties: Lightly brush each patty with cooking oil. Place the patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Prepare the gravy: Whisk together the beef broth, cornstarch, and soy sauce in a saucepan over medium heat, and stir until thickened, about 3-5 minutes. Season to taste.
- Serve and enjoy: Drizzle the homemade gravy over the patties and serve with mashed potatoes or vegetables.
Notes
Don’t overmix the meat to avoid tough patties. Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper cooking.
