Description
A delightful, colorful dish that embodies the flavors of fall. Air-fried bell peppers are perfect for salads, sandwiches, or enjoying as a snack.
Ingredients
- 4 medium bell peppers (any color: red, yellow, orange, or green)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or halal cooking spray
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked or sweet)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: Fresh herbs like basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Wash the bell peppers under cold water to remove any dirt. Cut the tops off and discard the seeds. You can slice the peppers into strips or leave them whole, depending on your preference.
- Place the sliced bell peppers in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle the olive oil over the peppers, and sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until all the pieces are evenly coated in oil and spices.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes. This step ensures that your peppers cook evenly.
- Arrange the seasoned bell peppers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding for optimal cooking. Air fry for about 10 to 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- Check the peppers; they should be tender and slightly charred when done. If you prefer a softer texture, you can cook them for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the peppers from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before garnishing with fresh herbs, if desired. Enjoy your Air Fryer Roasted Bell Peppers hot or at room temperature!
Notes
For the best flavor, select fresh bell peppers that feel firm and have a vibrant color. Each color has a slightly different taste.
