Description
Delightful and crispy air fryer potato slices, perfect for autumn gatherings as a snack or side dish.
Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or any halal-friendly vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika (smoked or regular)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by washing and peeling the potatoes. While peeling is optional, removing the skin allows for a smoother bite.
- Using a sharp knife or a mandoline, slice the potatoes into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Making them uniform in size ensures even cooking.
- In a large bowl, combine the potato slices with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss well until the slices are evenly coated in the seasoning mixture.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes. This step helps to achieve that perfect crispiness.
- Arrange the seasoned potato slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding; you may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry the slices for 10–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking. Cook until they are golden brown and crispy to your liking.
- Once cooked, remove the potato slices from the air fryer and sprinkle with fresh herbs if desired. Serve warm as a delightful snack or side dish.
Notes
For an extra kick, consider adding cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix. If using sweet potatoes, adjust the cooking time as they may cook faster.
