Description
Crispy and golden Air Fryer Onion Rings, the perfect snack for fall gatherings or casual dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 large onion (Vidalia or yellow)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
- Cooking spray or olive oil for drizzling
Instructions
- Prep the onion by peeling and slicing into thick rings, about 1/4 inch wide. Separate the rings and set aside.
- Prepare the breading station: In one bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. In a second bowl, whisk the eggs. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
- Coat each onion ring in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Arrange the rings in a lightly greased air fryer basket in a single layer, working in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs and ensure even thickness when slicing the onions.
