Description

Crispy and golden Air Fryer Onion Rings, the perfect snack for fall gatherings or casual dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion (Vidalia or yellow)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • Cooking spray or olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prep the onion by peeling and slicing into thick rings, about 1/4 inch wide. Separate the rings and set aside.
  2. Prepare the breading station: In one bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. In a second bowl, whisk the eggs. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat each onion ring in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Arrange the rings in a lightly greased air fryer basket in a single layer, working in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs and ensure even thickness when slicing the onions.
