Description

Crispy and delicious Air Fryer Onion Rings, perfect for a cozy fall snack or as a crunchy side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 large onions (Vidalia or yellow onions)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk with lemon juice)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray or cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the onions: Peel and slice them into thick rings.
  2. Set up your breading stations with flour, buttermilk, and breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
  3. Bread the onion rings by dipping them in flour, then buttermilk, and finally breadcrumbs.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Air fry the rings in a lightly sprayed basket, ensuring they are in a single layer.
  6. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces!

Notes

For extra crunch, use Panko breadcrumbs and don’t skip preheating the air fryer.
