Ingredients
- 2 large onions (Vidalia or yellow onions)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
- 1 cup buttermilk (or milk with lemon juice)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko preferred)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil spray or cooking spray
Instructions
- Prepare the onions: Peel and slice them into thick rings.
- Set up your breading stations with flour, buttermilk, and breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
- Bread the onion rings by dipping them in flour, then buttermilk, and finally breadcrumbs.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Air fry the rings in a lightly sprayed basket, ensuring they are in a single layer.
- Cook for 8 to 10 minutes until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces!
Notes
For extra crunch, use Panko breadcrumbs and don’t skip preheating the air fryer.
