Ingredients
- ½ cup all-purpose flour

Instructions
- Prepare the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the flour, dark cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk them together until well mixed.
- Combine the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Incorporate Boiling Water: Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth and well-combined.
- Prepare the Baking Pan: Grease a small cake pan that fits into your air fryer. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
- Air Fry: Place the pan in the air fryer basket. Cook for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Once baked, carefully remove the cake from the air fryer. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Make the Brown Butter Frosting: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until golden brown. Let it cool slightly, then mix with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Frost the Cake: Once the cake is completely cool, generously spread the brown butter frosting on top.

Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter. You can substitute the all-purpose flour with gluten-free blend if needed.
