Description

A quick and easy recipe for creamy Air Fryer Macaroni and Cheese, perfect for cozy fall evenings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)


Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 7-8 minutes.
  3. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot.
  4. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and mustard powder. Stir until heated through but not boiling.
  5. Gradually add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, stirring until melted and smooth.
  6. Pour the cheese sauce over the cooked macaroni in the pot. Stir until the pasta is well coated with the cheese mixture.
  7. Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture and mix in the salt to taste.
  8. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
  9. Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture into an air fryer-safe dish. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs on top for that perfect crunchy finish.
  10. Carefully place the dish into the air fryer basket. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
  11. Remove the dish from the air fryer, let it cool for a couple of minutes, and serve warm. Enjoy every cheesy bite!

Notes

Don’t overcook the pasta and use freshly shredded cheese for best results.
