Description

Homemade Air Fryer Fish Sticks offer a nostalgic and healthier twist on a classic dish, perfect for cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450g) firm white fish fillets (cod, haddock, or tilapia)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free alternative)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (whole wheat or gluten-free)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil cooking spray or halal cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Cut your fish fillets into sticks, roughly 1-inch wide and 3-4 inches long.
  2. Place the flour in one shallow dish.
  3. Beat the eggs in a second dish until well mixed.
  4. Combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a third dish.
  5. Dip each fish stick first into the flour, then the egg, and finally into the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  7. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil and place the fish sticks in a single layer.
  8. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as homemade tartar sauce or lemon aioli.

Notes

Using thick fillets yields the best results; frozen fish can be used if fully thawed. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
