Description
Homemade Air Fryer Fish Sticks offer a nostalgic and healthier twist on a classic dish, perfect for cozy family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pound (450g) firm white fish fillets (cod, haddock, or tilapia)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free alternative)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (whole wheat or gluten-free)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil cooking spray or halal cooking oil
Instructions
- Cut your fish fillets into sticks, roughly 1-inch wide and 3-4 inches long.
- Place the flour in one shallow dish.
- Beat the eggs in a second dish until well mixed.
- Combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a third dish.
- Dip each fish stick first into the flour, then the egg, and finally into the breadcrumb mixture.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil and place the fish sticks in a single layer.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as homemade tartar sauce or lemon aioli.
Notes
Using thick fillets yields the best results; frozen fish can be used if fully thawed. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
