Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk (or any non-dairy alternative)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, combine the applesauce, egg, vanilla extract, and milk. Stir until well mixed.
- Slowly add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until combined.
- Lightly flour your working surface and roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out donut shapes using a donut cutter.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place the donuts in a single layer in the basket.
- Cook for about 5-6 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
- Dust the donuts with powdered sugar for a sweet finish.
