Ingredients
- 500g beef strips
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 red chilies, chopped
- 2 spring onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prepare the beef: Place the beef strips in a bowl and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes.
- Coat the beef: In a separate bowl, combine the cornstarch and baking powder. Toss the marinated beef strips in this mixture until well-coated.
- Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (390°F) for about 5 minutes.
- Cook the beef: Spray the air fryer basket with vegetable oil. Place half of the beef strips in a single layer and air fry for approximately 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Repeat with the remaining beef strips.
- Prepare the sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, honey, sweet chili sauce, rice vinegar, and chopped chilies in a small bowl.
- Toss the beef: Once cooked, transfer the beef to a bowl, pour the sauce over while hot, and toss gently.
- Garnish and serve: Serve hot, garnished with spring onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute beef with tofu or eggplant. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
