Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) boneless chicken tenders (halal)
- 1 cup cornflakes (plain or flavored, unseasoned)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour, see Variations)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or olive oil spray
Instructions
- Prep the Cornflakes: Start by placing your cornflakes in a large zip-top bag. Crush them gently using a rolling pin or your hands until you achieve a coarse crumb texture. Pour the crushed cornflakes into a shallow bowl and set aside.
- Set Up Your Breading Station: In one shallow bowl, add the all-purpose flour and season it with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. In a second shallow bowl, beat the two large eggs until the yolks and whites are combined.
- Coat the Chicken: Take each chicken tender and first coat it in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip the chicken into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the chicken in the crushed cornflakes, pressing gently to ensure the flakes adhere well. Place the breaded chicken tenders on a plate.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) for about 5 minutes to ensure your chicken cooks evenly.
- Air Fry the Chicken Tenders: Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Arrange the chicken tenders in a single layer in the basket, making sure they are not overcrowded. You may have to cook in batches. Lightly spray the tops of the chicken tenders with olive oil spray. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping the tenders halfway through, until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165ยฐF or 75ยฐC).
