Description
A cozy and easy Air Fryer Cod recipe with a crispy exterior and tender, flaky fish.
Ingredients
- 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each), patted dry
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and let it preheat for 3–5 minutes.
- Prepare the fish: In a shallow bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the fillets: Brush or spoon the mixture evenly over both sides of each cod fillet. Let the fish sit for 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Arrange in the basket: Place fillets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd—cook in batches if needed.
- Cook: Air fry at 380°F for 9–12 minutes, depending on thickness. The fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Finish and serve: Sprinkle chopped parsley and a squeeze of fresh lemon over the fillets. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
Pat dry to help the seasoning stick and prevent steaming. Use a meat thermometer to check thickness. Consider adding garlic-herb butter for extra richness.
