Description
A cozy and unique side dish that showcases the earthy, sweet flavor of cabbage, perfect for autumn meals.
Ingredients
- 1 medium head of green cabbage
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (or your preferred cooking oil)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings: grated Parmesan cheese, crushed red pepper flakes, or fresh herbs
Instructions
- Start by removing any outer leaves that may be wilted or damaged.
- Slice the cabbage into 1-inch thick steaks; you’ll typically get about 4-6 steaks from a medium head of cabbage.
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Brush the mixture generously on both sides of the cabbage steaks, ensuring every bit of cabbage is coated.
- Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for about 5 minutes.
- Place the seasoned cabbage steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded.
- Cook for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are crispy and the cabbage is tender.
- Once cooked, remove the cabbage steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for a minute.
- Consider adding optional toppings like grated Parmesan cheese or fresh herbs for an extra flavor burst.
Notes
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer for best results and adjust seasonings to taste.
