Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or halal ground chicken or turkey)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (gluten-free if desired)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: cheese slices, lettuce, tomato, pickles, or your favorite burger toppings
Instructions
- Combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form patties about ¾ inch thick with a small indentation in the center of each.
- Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray and place the patties in a single layer.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for beef or 165°F (74°C) for chicken/turkey.
- Add a slice of cheese on top of each patty during the last 2 minutes of cooking if desired.
- Remove the patties from the air fryer and let them rest for a minute.
- Toast your burger buns for 2-3 minutes and layer with toppings of your choice.
