Description
A cozy fall treat, this Air Fryer Beef Jerky is easy to make and perfect for snacking.
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean beef (like flank steak, sirloin, or eye of round)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (use a gluten-free version if needed)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (ensure it’s gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Slice the beef: Place your beef in the freezer for 1-2 hours for easier slicing. Slice against the grain into thin strips, about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick.
- Marinate the meat: Whisk together the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, brown sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes. Add the sliced beef, coat well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
- Preheat your air fryer: Set your air fryer to 160°F (70°C).
- Arrange the beef strips: Remove the beef from the marinade, pat dry, and arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry the beef: Cook for 4 to 6 hours, checking every hour until done.
- Cool and store: Allow jerky to cool completely on a wire rack before storing in an airtight container.
