Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Air Fryer BBQ Chicken Drumsticks with a caramelized glaze, perfect for a cozy autumn evening.

Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks (about 2 pounds), patted dry
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne (optional)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes. While it warms, dry the drumsticks with paper towels.
  2. Season the chicken: In a large bowl, toss drumsticks with olive oil, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne.
  3. Arrange in the basket: Place drumsticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket with a little space between them.
  4. Cook at 400°F for 10 minutes. Open the basket, flip each drumstick, and air fry for another 8–10 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Brush each drumstick with barbecue sauce and air fry for a final 2–3 minutes to set the glaze.
  6. Let the drumsticks rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider a light spray of oil over the drumsticks before cooking.
