Ingredients
- 4 medium sweet potatoes, washed and scrubbed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or a halal oil alternative)
- 1 teaspoon sea salt (to taste)
- Optional toppings: cinnamon, maple syrup, or nut butter
- Optional streusel topping (see variations below)
Instructions
- Prep the sweet potatoes: Begin by washing and scrubbing your sweet potatoes thoroughly. Pat them dry.
- Poke holes: Using a fork, poke several holes around each sweet potato to allow steam to escape.
- Season: Drizzle the sweet potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt. Rub the oil and salt over the skin.
- Preheat the air fryer: Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat.
- Cook: Place the sweet potatoes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they’re not overcrowded. Cook for about 25-30 minutes, turning them halfway through.
- Check for doneness: After 25 minutes, insert a fork or knife into the thickest part; they should be tender.
- Serve: Remove from the air fryer, let cool, slice open, and add your favorite toppings.
