Description
A delightful vegetable side dish featuring crispy asparagus cooked in an air fryer, perfect for autumn meals.
Ingredients
- 1 bunch of fresh asparagus (about 1 pound), trimmed
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- ½ teaspoon of sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon of freshly cracked black pepper
- Lemon wedges (for serving, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the asparagus: Begin by rinsing the asparagus under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Pat them dry gently with a kitchen towel. Trim off the woody ends — usually about 1-2 inches from the bottom.
- Season the asparagus: In a large mixing bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper. Ensure that each spear is nicely coated with the seasoning mix.
- Preheat your air fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (about 200°C) and allow it to preheat for about 3-5 minutes.
- Cook the asparagus: Once preheated, place the seasoned asparagus spears in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Check for doneness: The asparagus should be bright green and slightly charred. Cook longer if a softer texture is preferred.
- Serve and enjoy: Transfer the asparagus to a serving platter and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top if desired.
Notes
Choose fresh asparagus and avoid overcrowding the air fryer for best results. Experiment with seasonings for a personal touch.
