Description
A delightful and easy to prepare side dish featuring fresh asparagus seasoned with garlic and cooked to perfection in an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)
- Fresh lemon juice (for serving)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional for garnish, ensure it’s halal certified)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat while you prepare the asparagus.
- Prepare the asparagus: Rinse the asparagus under cool water to clean it. Snap off the woody ends by bending each stalk until it naturally breaks.
- Season the asparagus: In a large mixing bowl, toss the cleaned asparagus with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if you’re using them. Ensure each spear is evenly coated.
- Place asparagus in the air fryer: Arrange the seasoned asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Ensure there is some space between the spears for even cooking.
- Air fry the asparagus: Cook the asparagus at 400°F (200°C) for about 7 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
- Serve and enjoy: Once cooked, transfer the asparagus to a serving plate. Drizzle with fresh lemon juice, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Notes
For best results, avoid overcrowding the air fryer and adjust seasonings to taste. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
