Description
Delightful Air Fryer Apple Fritters that are fluffy, packed with fresh apples, and healthier than traditional fried versions.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk (or a non-dairy alternative)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Cooking spray (for the air fryer)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for the glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for the glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the glaze)
Instructions
- Peel and chop the apples into small pieces, then toss with lemon juice.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
- Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, drop batter onto parchment paper and shape into fritter shapes.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray, place fritters in the basket, and cook for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- While the fritters cool, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
- Once the fritters are cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over the top and serve warm.
Notes
Don’t overmix the batter to avoid tough fritters. Allow fritters to cool on a wire rack.
