Description

Delightful Air Fryer Apple Fritters that are fluffy, packed with fresh apples, and healthier than traditional fried versions.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk (or a non-dairy alternative)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Cooking spray (for the air fryer)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for the glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for the glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the glaze)


Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the apples into small pieces, then toss with lemon juice.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
  5. Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, drop batter onto parchment paper and shape into fritter shapes.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray, place fritters in the basket, and cook for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  8. While the fritters cool, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
  9. Once the fritters are cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over the top and serve warm.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter to avoid tough fritters. Allow fritters to cool on a wire rack.
