Ingredients
- 1 lb thinly sliced beef sirloin or flank steak
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and half of the beef broth.
- Add sliced beef and marinate briefly while preparing vegetables.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add marinated beef and cook 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
- Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- Add garlic and ginger to the same skillet and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add broccoli florets and a splash of water.
- Cover and steam for 2–3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
- Whisk remaining broth with brown sugar and sesame oil.
- Pour sauce into the skillet and stir until thickened.
- Return beef to the pan and toss until evenly coated.
- Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
Notes
Slice beef thinly against the grain for best tenderness. Avoid overcooking broccoli to keep it crisp and vibrant.
