Description

A quick and nourishing skillet dinner with tender beef, crisp broccoli, and a glossy savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights and ready in just 30 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef sirloin or flank steak
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and half of the beef broth.
  2. Add sliced beef and marinate briefly while preparing vegetables.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add marinated beef and cook 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
  5. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
  6. Add garlic and ginger to the same skillet and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Add broccoli florets and a splash of water.
  8. Cover and steam for 2–3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  9. Whisk remaining broth with brown sugar and sesame oil.
  10. Pour sauce into the skillet and stir until thickened.
  11. Return beef to the pan and toss until evenly coated.
  12. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Slice beef thinly against the grain for best tenderness. Avoid overcooking broccoli to keep it crisp and vibrant.
